Littorella Uniflora

Littorella uniflora, commonly known as Shoreweed, is a unique rosette-style aquarium plant prized for its short, grass-like leaves and clean, minimalist appearance. Its compact growth makes it an excellent choice for the foreground of planted aquariums, where it creates a natural meadow effect or complements rocks and driftwood in nature-style aquascapes.
Unlike traditional carpeting plants, Littorella uniflora grows in individual rosettes that gradually spread by producing runners. With medium to high lighting and nutrient-rich substrate, it develops dense, healthy growth while maintaining its distinctive upright form. CO₂ supplementation is beneficial but not essential for successful growth.
Its hardy nature and unique texture make Littorella uniflora a favorite for Iwagumi layouts, Dutch aquascapes, and aquariums that emphasize natural simplicity.
